Empowering Tomorrow's Innovators: Celebrating Women in Tech and Inspiring the Next Generation at PPHS
Women in Tech Week: Paving the Way for Future Innovators at PPHS
At Purdue Polytechnic High Schools (PPHS), innovation and opportunity are at the core of our mission, and this year, we are taking it to new heights with the launch of our Women in Tech Week campaign. This campaign is not only a celebration of the remarkable achievements of women in the tech industry but a call to action for young women to step boldly into their future roles as tech innovators, leaders, and explorers.
Why Women IN Tech?
Men have long dominated the tech industry, but the tide is turning. Women are breaking barriers and making significant strides, yet they remain underrepresented in many areas. At PPHS, we recognize the critical need to close this gap and foster an environment where girls and young women are inspired, supported, and equipped to succeed in the world of technology. Women in Tech Week will spotlight the powerful stories of women in STEM, both within and outside of PPHS, while providing our students with the tools, mentorship, and encouragement they need to follow in their footsteps.
Dr. Keeanna Warren, CEO of PPHS, reflects on the importance of this campaign:

"Women make up less than 30% of the STEM workforce, and this low representation means we are missing out on engaging the full potential of talent in the industry. This isn’t just about diversity—it’s about better business. When we bring multiple perspectives to the table, outcomes improve, innovation accelerates, and industries thrive. To truly lead in tech, we must ensure that women are not only present but empowered to shape the future."
The Significance for PPHS Students
Our Women in Tech Week campaign will feature interactive workshops, panel discussions, and networking opportunities with women leaders in the tech field. From coding opportunities to leadership talks, students can engage with mentors and community partners who will share their journeys and insights into breaking into tech.
Shatoya, a leader in transforming the PPHS operations and a dedicated advocate for equity in education, shared her thoughts on the campaign:

“The next generation of women in tech is right here in our schools. It’s crucial that we give our students, especially our young women, the confidence and skills they need to pursue their passions. Women in Tech Week will empower them to see their potential in the industry and beyond.”

Throughout the week, we’ll also highlight the successes of our female students and staff members, showcasing their diverse talents and contributions to the tech space.
Principal Lucas Zartman of PPHS Broad Ripple shared his excitement for the campaign:
"It's incredible to see the growth and ambition in our young women at Broad Ripple. We know that they exceed every expectation when they are given the chance to excel. Women in Tech Week will open doors for these students to explore possibilities they may have never considered before."
A Movement Towards Change
This campaign is part of a broader movement at PPHS to ensure that all of our students, regardless of gender, have access to the resources and opportunities they need to succeed. In tech, where the future is being shaped every day, we believe our students have a place in leading that charge.
Join us for Women in Tech Week, as we celebrate, inspire, and uplift the women who are shaping the future of technology. Keep an eye on our social media channels for updates, and get ready to witness the next generation of tech innovators, leaders, and changemakers.
As Dr. Warren powerfully states:
