PPHS participates in the USDA National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs. Breakfast and lunch are free to all PPHS students under the USDA’s Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). CEP pertains to meals and not other educational benefits.

Details about what makes up a reimbursable breakfast and lunch can be found here.

  • Purdue Polytechnic High Schools will participate in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for meals served on the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program for the 2024-2025 school year. All enrolled students at PPHS are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at no charge to your household. No further action is required of you. Your child(ren) will be able to participate in the meal programs without having to pay a fee or complete an application.

However, free and reduced eligibility needs to be determined in order for households to qualify for the Summer EBT (SUN Bucks) Program, other educational benefits, and funding opportunities for your school. Some examples of other educational benefits may include: test/exam fee reduction or waiver, and eligibility for other discounts or program opportunities.

To apply, complete a 2024-2025 Alternate Household Application for Free and Reduced Eligibility. Return the completed application to the school, and you will be notified when your application is approved or denied.

  • Modified meals may be requested for students with food allergies, intolerances or other medically-necessary dietary needs such as texture modifications related to swallowing or chewing difficulties.

In order to best serve our students with specialized dietary needs, an Annual Modified Meal Request Form must be completed each school year. The completed Annual Modified Meal Request form will not be carried over from year to year. The parent or guardian is required to submit a new form signed by the student’s physician or medical authority. Recognized medical authorities include physicians, physician assistants, or nurse practitioners.

Completed forms should be sent to foodservices@pphs.purdue.edu and will be processed in the order in which they are received.

Once processed, the PPHS Food Service Department will contact the parent or guardian with the details of the student’s accommodations as well as the date those accommodations will begin.

Modified meals cannot be provided to accommodate religious preferences, personal diet modifications or food dislikes; however, our menu variety allows students to select items that meet their dietary preferences. Parents or guardians are encouraged to plan ahead with their students using the PPHS Food Service menus.

Additional questions can be directed to the PPHS Director of Health & Wellness at (317) 832-1200.
