Meet Joshua Bowling, community outreach coordinator
Joshua Bowling has joined the Purdue Polytechnic High School team as its community outreach coordinator. He is working directly with Indianapolis Public Schools, community centers, and faith-based groups to make personal connections and to promote the school.
“Purdue has the weight and prestige to help high school students become career-ready and to see the workforce as a real option after graduation,” Bowling said. “Joining the team became especially attractive when I learned a Purdue high school was going to open in my neighborhood.”
Bowling’s current focus is on student recruitment and working with Purdue Polytechnic High School’s middle school partners. “In early February, all of the speculation about our future students will be replaced with real names, faces and families. I’m so excited to meet our first class,” Bowling said.
Bowling spent the last five years in a community outreach role for the John Boner Neighborhood Centers at the Legacy Center on the campus of Arsenal Tech High School. He also served as a neighborhood development specialist at the Indianapolis Neighborhood Resource Center. Bowling received his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from IUPUI.
